Great value C-Max
Great value C-Max

IF you are looking for a great value midi-MPV, you would be hard pressed to choose from the wide array of different models.

But one I really enjoy driving is the Ford C-Max, which is based on the rock solid chassis of the latest Focus.

There are plenty of 1.6 petrol models about at the moment, and good discounts given when they were new mean that they now come pretty cheap.

The C-Max is great to drive, with decent acceleration even in 1.6 form, and better still in the 1.6 and two-litre diesel turbo versions, which are of course, more economical.

As well as the 1.6, there are 1.8 and two-litre petrols and every model in the range rides very comfortably. They also have brilliant road holding with safe and sure handling.

Diesels are more sought after and therefore more expensive, and even at these prices, the gain in mpg takes a long time to get back compared to buying a petrol. Reliability is thought to be excellent in the trade - but only with full service history so make sure you get it.

Interior

The C-Max has a very good driving position, comfortable seats and high build quality. It has airbags on all sides, electronic stability control, air conditioning, remote double locking and an alarm.
