KIA has taken soul to the home of the electric blues in the shape of a rebellious new concept car. Called the Track’ster, this aggressive design study has been unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show and is based on the Kia Soul city car. The model is aimed at displaying the distinctive design direction that the South Korean manufacturer is taking, and intended to be the ultimate sporting representation of the Soul compact urban crossover. The Soul was originally created in the company’s California studio, birthplace of the Soul’ster convertible concept that is currently under final assessment for production. And chief designer Tom Kearns and his team have designed the Track’ster concept car in keeping with the Soul’s individual, urban character. Soul, available in the UK from £12,495, has been a hit with US consumers and in 2011 more than 102,000 were delivered to owners. That said, there are no plans at present for Track’ster to enter production. |
